John Lennon Songs To Benefit Darfur– Amnesty International

An album of John Lennon songs was recorded by contemporary artists and sponsored by Amnesty International to benefit Darufur.  Yoko Ono donated the rights to Lennon’s songs and said:

It’s wonderful that, through this campaign, music that is so familiar to many people of my era will now be embraced by a whole new generation, John’s music set out to inspire change, and in standing up for human rights, we really can make the world a better place.

Bruce Dancis of McClatchy Newspapers comments about some of the contemporary artists on the album and in the end says:

As a tribute to the music of Lennon and a benefit for a worthy cause, "Instant Karma" is in large measure a success.
